We are a cultural centre and a creative network, a gallery and a theatre, a cinema and a fablab, a residency centre and a coffee roastery. We give new life to the old halls of Brno’s Zbrojovka, connecting the Czech Republic with the world. We transform and move forward, we challenge and innovate. We are INDUSTRA.
INDUSTRA was founded in 2012 in the former ice cream factory as a tangible testament of resistance against Brno’s mediocrity and petty bourgeois mindset. The local cultural and civic society was given a foundation and space to realise truly bold and ambitious ideas. Thanks to hundreds of volunteers and donors, INDUSTRA opened to the public in spring 2013, initially with just a gallery and café, later adding a theatre (2015), a fablab, and residency studios (2017). In 2021, INDUSTRA (unplannedly and rapidly) relocated to the Nová Zbrojovka, where it continues to grow. Today, it is one of the largest cultural centres of its kind in the Central European region.
