Together, we will discuss their artistic practice, the overall concept and context of the exhibition, while taking a peek under the hood of the creation of the artworks and their artistic and curatorial profession.

Annotation:
The initial impuls for bringing this constellation of artists together was the fact that their studios are located in former industrial buildings. They often incorporate textile materials and research into their industries and histories into their work. During the period of industrialisation in the nineteenth century, the textile industry developed in the various areas of Switzerland where the artists live and work, and is still present in a modified form today. This is a parallel to Brno, which was known as the Moravian Manchester, with enterprises such as Vlněna and Mosilana, which introduced wool and textile production lines at the same time.

Artists will discuss their specific works against the backdrop of the factory, which has undergone radical changes under the influence of spatial and temporal dynamics that have made them public sites of cultural production - art venues and community cultural centers that attract diverse audiences and present art outside the domain of the white cube gallery to enhance understanding of exhibition and the context of artworks. The curators will discuss how group exhibitions can provide a critical constellation, a democratic platform that explores how an exhibition can provoke a public discourse that promotes an international dialogue on the notion of work in an era of mobility.

The art scene in Switzerland is itself highly international, and together we will discuss what it means for individual artists to work and collaborate in an international artistic context, and how their works create not only an aesthetic pleasure that can be seen as intertwined with the politics of care that is perhaps an inevitable part of cultural politics. How artworks can develop a narrative articulating the demand for ecological change in order to build stronger artistic communities across borders through experimentation, collaboration and international exchange.
