This exhibition is the result of an artistic residency carried out by Aurora Alcaide in Villa Väinölä (Alarjärvi, Finland), work of the famous architect Alvar Aalto, in August 2018. She had the privilege of being the first artist to inhabit it, coinciding with its reopening to the public after being closed for almost twenty years. The relevance of this fact motivate her to carry out an artistic project about this house, about the layers of memory that housed its walls, her experience there and the footprint of Alvar Aalto.

Aurora Alcaide Ramírez is a Doctor of Fine Arts from the UGR (2003) and since 2005 Professor at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Murcia. She is the director of the Art and Identity Politics Research Group, executive manager of the journal of the same name, and editor of the Migratory Aesthetics Collection in Contemporary Art (Murcia: Editum). At the present, she participates in the R+D+i projects The Neighbourhood as a Scenario for Critical Pedagogies and Collaborative (PGC2018-094351-B-C42) and Nomadic Territory: Migrations, Transitions and Dislocations in Contemporary Photography, supported by Feevale University (Brazil).

Tato výstava je výsledkem umělecké rezidence, kterou Aurora Alcaide uskutečnila v srpnu 2018 ve vile Väinölä (Alarjärvi, Finsko), díle slavného architekta Alvara Aalta. Měla tu čest být první umělkyní, která ji obývala, což se shodovalo s jejím znovuotevřením pro veřejnost po téměř dvacetiletém uzavření. Význam této skutečnosti ji motivoval k realizaci uměleckého projektu o tomto domě, o vrstvách paměti, které obývaly jeho zdi, o její zkušenosti v něm a o stopě Alvara Aalta.

Je ředitelkou výzkumné skupiny Art and Identity Politics, výkonnou manažerkou stejnojmenného časopisu a editorkou sborníku Migratory Aesthetics in Contemporary Art (Murcia: Editum). V současné době se podílí na projektech R+D+i The Neighbourhood as a Scenario for Critical Pedagogies and Collaborative (PGC2018-094351-B-C42) a Nomadic Territory: Migrations, Transitions and Dislocations in Contemporary Photography (Migrace, přechody a dislokace v současné fotografii), který podpořila Univerzita Feevale (Brazílie).
